Story Inspiration
mhapy was born from both personal experience and professional heartbreak. While working as a mental health nurse, I cared for people who got into trouble with the law. Not because they were bad, but because their mental health needs were ignored for too long. I saw how untreated struggles can grow quietly until they explode. With early support, their stories could have been very different. I found myself having the same deep conversations with different patients. The conversations were new for them but not for me. That made me realize I could build a chatbot to have these kinds of conversations early and with more people at once. While supporting patients who had already decompensated, I realized something important. Many of them wouldn’t have reached that point if these conversations had happened sooner. I started looking deeper and saw that therapist, the first line of mental health care, were already overwhelmed. Too much administrative work, too many forms, and too little time to focus on their clients. That was the real bottleneck. So, I created mhapy to fix that. It handles the administrative load, helps therapists connect with the right clients, and gives people access to support before things get worse.
